Received the brand new AF5P from Adam Wong and thought I write my impressions down here.

Quick Shipping

Arrived quickly, only a few days after I ordered. Got a tracking number with the order confirmation.

Good Packaging

An outer brown box contains the inner retail box with carrying handle. Some foam to dampen any transport vibrations.

Easy Assembly & Disassembly

It almost assembles by itself - thanks to the magnets and the well thought-through symmetric design (all side parts are same) everything snaps into place.

Due to that, one can quickly disassemble it for transport and reassemble it at the destination - guess the retail box can be kept for such transports.

Power Supply

Mine came with the correct power supply and power cord for Germany.

The cord (either the AC or DC cable) could be a bit longer.

It has a barrel-type DC plug and is rated for 12V 4A - guess that is easy to replace in case it would get defect.

Inside the AF5P, the DC barrel socket is wired to a connector on an internal board, so guess it could be exchanged easily in case the barrel socket became defective.

Why not USB-C?

I would’ve wished for USB type C PD, that would make it even more universal and also simplify feeding it from a USB-C power bank if one does not have a AC power outlet nearby.

It could then be delivered without a power supply (like it is usual in the EU for laptops and smartphones since a while - most people already have some USB-C power supplies).

Lower price, no country-specific adaptors or power cords.

Maybe an idea for the next generation?

Simple & intuitive Operations

There is one orange knob to control it: on/off, adjust speed (25-100%), toggle auto mode.
